This project was particularly fun for me to work on because it allowed me to apply what I know about graphic design to one of my business-oriented classes. Again, I did not make this in Photoshop because I did not have access to the Adobe Suite at the time. This came with some limitations in the designing process. The program I used, Procreate, is more commonly used for drawing and painting rather than more complex designing such as this.

All aspects of this poster were put together by me. I inserted pictures of hot dogs into his hands, drew the electricity behind him with a specific light brush in Procreate, and adjusted the light of the subject to match the background image that I found. The same brush was used for the neon-like inline in the text at the top of the poster. I created the blur behind the subject by duplicating the subject multiple times, then applying a gaussian blur to all of them, and finally warping the blurred subjects to make it look like heavy motion blur.

The poster shown on the left was actually the inspiration for me to make this advertisement. I’ve had this poster for a long time and I’ve always liked the design so I figured I would create something like it with the fonts, but put my own spin on it. Instead of the food being the focal point of the advertisement, I made the character of the movie the subject instead. I made that decision because both the poster I made and the poster on the left were meant to be hung in the window of a gas station. I wanted the main point of the poster to be the discounted price of the chili dogs due to the new Sonic movie’s release.
